The Making of MT Barrels
Handcrafted beer. Mouthwatering steaks. Premium cigars. Does a night out get any better than this? Welcome to M.T. Barrels – West Dundee’s hometown brewpub and gathering place.
Constructed by Martin T. Barrows in 1879, this building first served as a hardware store and produced the Dundee milk can, which farmers used to ship milk by rail into Chicago.
During prohibition, this building housed a drug store with a speakeasy in the basement. Today, you'll find a restaurant and bar that's entirely unique, absolutely fun – a microbrewery, steakhouse and cigar bar all rolled into one.
Hometown feel. Historic flair.
Sure, prohibition ended in 1933, but at M.T. Barrels, you’ll capture the speakeasy spirit of the roaring '20s and '30s in this historic building.
Renovated to restore the beauty and character of the original building—and celebrate the village's rich history—the Simal family invites you to enjoy the scenic views, delicious food, and of course, the great beer.
Cheers.
